Enginerds Launches Compass to Track Tech Media Coverage Shifts

Marina del Rey, Calif. – September 11, 2026 -- Enginerds has launched Compass, a measurement service tracking how the technology press covers companies, products and technologies against each topic's own 15-month coverage history across more than 140 publications.
Compass classified 47,462 developments in August, finding only 1 in 13 described completed results
The tool measured 47,462 reported developments across 29,256 articles in August 2026, according to founder Alan Koenig. Roughly one in thirteen items described a completed result, with most coverage instead announcing or launching new claims.
