Vertiv 2.3 MW CDU Becomes First NVIDIA DSX Ready Qualified Unit

Columbus, Ohio – October 12, 2026 -- Vertiv's 2.3 MW CoolChip coolant distribution unit (CDU) has qualified as a NVIDIA DSX Ready CDU, making it the first CDU to qualify specifically under the program, the company said.

Vertiv (NYSE: VRT) is among the initial providers of qualified CDU solutions in NVIDIA DSX Ready. The program lets AI factory builders identify power and cooling products that meet applicable NVIDIA DSX requirements.

Qualification rests on NVIDIA's CDU self-qualification suite

For CDU providers, the program uses the NVIDIA CDU self-qualification suite to determine whether a specific offering meets applicable functional requirements. NVIDIA DSX Ready connects individual products to those requirements.

The qualification does not replace site-specific engineering. Customers must still determine how a qualified product fits their facility design, system configuration and operating requirements.

The 2.3 MW unit covers direct-to-chip and rear-door cooling

The DSX Ready 2.3 MW model belongs to Vertiv's liquid-to-liquid CDU portfolio. It supports direct-to-chip and rear-door heat exchanger applications and is designed for installation at the end of a row or along the room perimeter. A CDU manages the flow and temperature of the liquid that removes heat from high-density computing systems.

Vertiv says the model extends its liquid-cooling portfolio for edge, colocation and hyperscale AI deployments.

NVIDIA DSX platform treats the AI factory as one system

The NVIDIA DSX AI Factory Platform unifies design and operations across compute, networking, power, cooling, facilities and software. It is meant to help partners run the factory as one system within available power, cooling, water and grid constraints. Those constraints increasingly determine what builders can deploy as computing density and infrastructure scale rise.

Scott Armul, Vertiv's Chief Product and Technology Officer, said compute, power and cooling decisions can no longer be made independently, because a constraint in any one system can limit the productive capacity of the entire facility. He said DSX Ready gives customers a more consistent basis for evaluating critical infrastructure within that larger design.
