Houston – November 03, 2026 -- Spark Energy has moved all of its roughly 445,000 residential customer equivalents (RCEs) onto VertexOne's VXretail and VXexchange platforms, VertexOne announced. The migration covers every Spark market and brand across 111 utility service territories in 21 states and Washington, D.C.
Migration folds a decade of acquisition-built systems into one platform
Customer accounts, billing operations, market transactions and associated business processes now run on a single integrated platform. They replace the multiple systems Spark accumulated through more than a decade of acquisitions and growth. Spark's brands include Spark Energy, Major Energy, Provider Power and Verde Energy.
VertexOne's implementation and customer service teams supported Spark at every stage. The teams worked to minimize the impact on Spark's customers and day-to-day operations during the transition.
Spark's COO cites data visibility and faster market entry
Paul Konikowski, Spark's Chief Operating Officer, said the move gives his team "one system to work from instead of several." He said the platform provides greater flexibility and clearer visibility into data across every brand and market. He added that it gives Spark a foundation to enter new markets and onboard customers faster.
VertexOne counts Spark among several supplier migrations this year
Ananda Goswami, Senior Vice President of Sales Strategy at VertexOne, said Spark is the latest in a run of suppliers to move onto the platform this year. He attributed the trend to suppliers outgrowing operations split across separate systems. VertexOne describes the Spark project as the latest in a series of large-scale retail energy migrations it has delivered in deregulated markets.
