SOFTSWISS Launches 2027 iGaming Trends Report With AWS, WorldGaming

Lisbon – September 30, 2026 -- SOFTSWISS has released its 2027 iGaming Trends report, drawing on a survey of more than 500 industry experts and analysis of over 480,000 media headlines to map the sector's regulatory, technological and competitive trajectory.

Fifth anniversary edition adds cross-sector benchmarking against e-commerce and crypto

Marking five years of publication, this edition introduces a new "Beyond iGaming" framework comparing the industry against e-commerce, sports, film, gaming, streaming, e-pharma and crypto on metrics including market size, growth rate, regulatory maturity and digital adoption.

Amazon Web Services contributes AI production analysis

The report expands its co-author base beyond gaming specialists, with Amazon Web Services providing analysis of how artificial intelligence is transitioning from pilot projects into full production across gaming, betting, media and fintech operations. H2 Gambling Capital supplied gross gaming revenue (GGR) growth datasets segmented by key regions, while recruitment firm Pentasia contributed a hiring outlook identifying skills and roles expected to define workforce demand.

WorldGaming co-authors regional regulatory outlook

WorldGaming (formerly Clarion), serving as general partner and co-author, contributes a regional analysis projecting which jurisdictions will grow faster in 2027 amid shifting tax, payments and competitive conditions. Robin Harrison, Global Content Director B2B at WorldGaming, said operators need to identify local market friction and execute against it, noting that scale alone does not guarantee success across fragmented regulatory environments.

SOFTSWISS points to fintech and e-commerce as regulatory benchmarks

Alexandra Kavelich, Deputy CMO at SOFTSWISS, said the next competitive edge in iGaming will stem from regulatory readiness, secure payment journeys and intelligent risk management rather than content alone, pointing to fintech and e-commerce as sectors that have already set standards in these areas.
