Austin, Texas – October 06, 2026 -- Silicon Labs (NASDAQ: SLAB) unveiled a trio of developer initiatives at its seventh annual Works With Summit, including a public Beta AI SDK, an open-source Bluetooth LE community, and a new integration with Databricks aimed at scaling edge AI deployment across enterprise workflows.
Simplicity AI SDK enters public Beta with support for GitHub Copilot, Cursor, and Codex
The Simplicity AI SDK gives developers structured access to Silicon Labs SDKs, tools, documentation, and connected hardware through AI coding assistants they already use. The first officially supported experience targets Bluetooth LE, covering project creation, building, flashing, debugging, network and power analysis, and hardware interaction.
Simplicity Design Intelligence debuts with Hardware Intent as its first capability
Simplicity Design Intelligence uses product requirements, board schematics, and documentation ranging from datasheets to meeting notes to guide pin, peripheral, and software configuration, then checks the result against original intent. The tool is designed to catch pin conflicts, peripheral mismatches, and missing constraints before fabrication, reducing board respins. Risco Group Co-CEO Limor Alkelai, an Alpha customer, said the company has evaluated the Hardware Intent Agent's potential to streamline hardware development across current and future products.
Open-source Bluetooth LE community launches in Beta on GitHub
Building on prior open-source work with Matter, Thread, and Zephyr, Silicon Labs is opening its developer platform for contributions. Developers can raise issues, propose fixes, and submit pull requests, with accepted contributions moving through the company's engineering and testing processes into future SDK releases. Silicon Labs plans to extend this model to additional wireless technologies over time.
Databricks integration connects embedded edge AI with enterprise MLOps pipelines
An initial Silicon Labs MLOps SDK experience links devices to Databricks to capture fleet data for training using existing MLOps tools, pipelines, and GPU resources. The Silicon Labs ML Profiler then provides directionally accurate feedback on whether a trained model fits target hardware memory and CPU requirements, letting engineers iterate inside the Databricks environment rather than building separate data stacks for embedded workloads.
Rollout timeline sets Hardware Intent alpha for January 2027
The Simplicity AI SDK Beta is available now with official support for Bluetooth LE and GitHub Copilot and Codex. An alpha release of Hardware Intent is planned for January 2027. The open-source community Beta has launched with Bluetooth LE sample applications accessible on GitHub, and initial Silicon Labs MLOps tools are already available in Databricks.
