Gąski – September 15, 2026 -- The Goose Bay residential development in Gąski, Poland, completed in September 2026, has integrated PENETRON ADMIX crystalline waterproofing technology into its below-grade concrete structures to counter chloride penetration from its Baltic Sea location just 40 meters from the shoreline.
Goose Bay comprises 58 apartments with six penthouses and a rooftop pool
The development offers units ranging from 28 to 70 square meters. Its proximity to the sea made water ingress and chloride penetration a critical design concern for the project team.
Penetron Poland supplied admix for foundation, parking garage and pool structures
The crystalline admixture was incorporated directly into the concrete mix used for the foundation slab, the retaining walls of the underground parking garage, and the swimming pool shell. According to Darek Samcik, Director of Penetron Poland, the technology reacts with moisture and cement hydration by-products to form insoluble crystals that block capillary pores and microcracks within the concrete matrix.
Technology aims to permanently reduce concrete permeability in marine environments
Penetron Poland provided technical support during implementation to ensure the waterproofing system performed as specified for the coastal exposure. The approach is intended to lower long-term maintenance requirements for the below-grade structures.

Samcik said an increasing number of developers in Poland are prioritizing permanently waterproof concrete structures capable of withstanding demanding environmental conditions, citing Goose Bay as an example of this shift.
