New Asia Forum Targets $30B in Investment at Bali Debut

Jakarta – October 09, 2026 -- The New Asia Forum has set a US$30 billion investment target for its inaugural edition, to be held 3-4 December in Bali, Indonesia, under the patronage of Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto.

Danantara Indonesia and Richard Attias & Associates launch a transaction-focused platform

The forum is powered by Danantara Indonesia, the country's sovereign fund, and produced by Richard Attias & Associates. Organizers describe it as a gateway connecting long-term capital with projects, partnerships and policymakers across the region.

It is built around transaction readiness, capital deployment and execution rather than a traditional conference format. The US$30 billion target will be pursued through a curated pipeline of investment-ready opportunities, with heads of state, ministers, sovereign investors and global CEOs aiming to convert diligence into signed commitments.

Organizers cite a gap between Asia-Pacific's 60% share of growth and its capital inflows

Asia-Pacific generates close to 60% of global economic growth, according to the IMF (2025), but attracts a smaller share of long-term international capital, the organizers say. The forum is designed to close that gap.

Eight sectors anchor the investment pipeline

Commitments will be pursued across eight strategic sectors:

  • Strategic resources and downstreaming
  • Energy and power
  • Mobility and advanced manufacturing
  • Digital infrastructure and AI
  • Food and agribusiness
  • Trade and connectivity
  • Tourism and creative economy
  • Education and human capital

The forum will track commitments and progress across editions, creating an ongoing accountability mechanism for investors and partners.

Danantara CEO frames the event as Indonesia engaging global capital

Rosan Roeslani, CEO of Danantara Indonesia and Indonesia's Minister of Investment, said Danantara is a founding partner and is inviting partners to unlock long-term value, describing the event as Indonesia engaging the world "from a position of confidence."

Richard Attias, founder and chairman of Richard Attias & Associates, argued that Asia is shifting from a destination for global capital to a source that will create and direct it.

The inaugural edition is invitation-only, with more than 1,000 leaders, over 100 speakers and over 40 sessions across two days.
