CIP Closes AUD 1.7 Billion Deal for Queensland Wind-Battery Project

MELBOURNE, Australia -- September 01, 2026 -- Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP) has reached financial close on Gawara Baya, a hybrid onshore wind and battery storage project in North Queensland, securing a AUD 1.7 billion facility from 10 banks. The acquisition, made on behalf of CIP's fifth flagship fund, Copenhagen Infrastructure V, follows receipt of all major approvals and a final investment decision. CIP bought the project from Australian developer Windlab. Construction has now started, with the project expected to be fully operational in 2030.

SHERIDAN, WYOMING -- July 22, 2026 -- HD Advanced Technologies GmbH (HDAT), a wholly owned subsidiary of Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG (HEIDELBERG), has signed a two-part industrial partnership with Swiss battery developer PHENOGY AG. HDAT will take over contract manufacturing of PHENOGY's sodium-ion energy storage systems, covering everything from procurement to installation and maintenance. The two companies are also preparing a joint venture to develop and mass-produce sodium-ion battery cells, combining PHENOGY's cell chemistry with a HEIDELBERG printing process. The goal is a European-based supply chain for battery storage that does not depend on manufacturing capacity outside the region.

SHERIDAN, WYOMING - December 30, 2025 - Public Service Enterprise Group (PSEG) says New York State's comptroller has granted final approval for an extension of PSEG Long Island's operations services agreement with the Long Island Power Authority (LIPA), locking in continued grid-operations responsibilities through the end of 2030.

Contract extension now fully cleared

PSEG said the LIPA Board of Trustees awarded PSEG Long Island a five-year extension of the existing contract on September 25, followed by approval from the New York State attorney general in October and final approval from the comptroller this week. The extension begins January 1, 2026, and runs through December 31, 2030. PSEG Long Island has operated the electric grid on behalf of LIPA since 2014, covering Long Island and the Rockaways.
