CIQ: Linux 6.18 Loads AI Model Weights 33.8% Faster

CIQ: Linux 6.18 Loads AI Model Weights 33.8% Faster

Santa Clara – October 12, 2026 -- CIQ says model loading ran 33.8 percent faster on Linux 6.18 than on a kernel frozen at general availability, based on its own benchmarks of the same workload. The company is pitching the result for RLC Pro AI, its Enterprise Linux distribution for GPU infrastructure.

CIQ's argument is that AI hardware and frameworks move faster than the operating system beneath them. NVIDIA advances the hardware, CUDA the toolkit and PyTorch the framework. An enterprise kernel, by design, trails by an average of twelve to eighteen months. RLC Pro AI ships Linux 6.18, the latest production and long-term GPU drivers, and the CUDA toolkit together, validated as one stack.

Global – October 12, 2026 -- RLC Pro AI (Rocky Linux from CIQ) now ships as a container image bundling GPU drivers, system dependencies and inference backend software, reducing a sovereign AI deployment to three steps, according to guest author Zach Deane-Mayer of AI Insight Solutions.

The pitch targets dependence on frontier AI labs. Those labs sell turnkey AI priced by the token, set the deprecation schedule and can revoke customer access at any time. Deane-Mayer argues that businesses reliant on AI should own the stack it runs on.

Fuzzball v4.3 Ships 11 Preset LLMs for Self-Hosted GPU Serving

Fuzzball v4.3 Ships 11 Preset LLMs for Self-Hosted GPU Serving

Global – – October 12, 2026 -- Fuzzball v4.3 adds a vLLM catalog entry and eleven validated model presets that serve a large language model from a pool of replicas on NVIDIA or AMD GPUs, behind an OpenAI-compatible endpoint.

Eleven presets come with GPU count, context size and vLLM arguments already set

The generic vLLM entry serves a HuggingFace model from a single catalog command. The eleven presets cover GPT-OSS 20B and 120B, Ministral 3 8B and 14B, Qwen3-Coder 30B and Next 80B, Nemotron 3 Nano and Super, Mistral Medium 3.5, Llama 4 Scout and Gemma 4 31B. Each has its GPU fit and serving arguments validated per model.

Users can accept the preset values or override them. In one example, a persistent volume keeps the downloaded checkpoint between starts, and MaxReplicas is raised to eight so the pool can grow under load.

United States – October 12, 2026 -- CIQ's Fuzzball 4.3 lets users launch large language models for inference in a few clicks, drawing on a catalog of nearly a dozen preconfigured LLMs that can run on an organization's own HPC cluster or in the cloud.

Fuzzball 4.3 removes manual setup for LLM serving

Users pick a model from the workflow catalog and interact with it through a browser or command line client. Fuzzball scales model services up or down with demand and provides a durable endpoint for access.

Earlier versions required more work for any model missing from the catalog. Users had to write a Fuzzfile, determine the model's compute requirements, sometimes by trial and error, and find a way to reach an autoscaled node pool without a single endpoint. Version 4.3 removes most of those steps.

Northbrook – October 08, 2026 -- Old World Industries (OWI), maker of PEAK and Thermal Charge Heat Transfer Fluids, and critical-infrastructure monitoring firm Integrity Systems have formed a partnership to pair coolant chemistry expertise with real-time predictive analytics for data center cooling loops.

Partnership targets unscheduled downtime in AI-driven data centers

Rising AI and high-density computing workloads are straining cooling infrastructure, and operators currently rely largely on periodic laboratory testing to assess coolant condition. The OWI-Integrity Systems collaboration adds continuous field monitoring between testing intervals, aiming to flag changing cooling-loop conditions before they trigger failures.

Rein Security Raises $25M Series A for AI Agent Runtime Protection

New York and Tel Aviv – October 08, 2026 -- Rein Security has closed a $25 million Series A round, lifting total funding to $35 million as enterprises race to secure autonomous AI agents operating inside production systems. The round was co-led by Glilot Capital and Sienna Venture Capital, with participation from Corner Ventures, Atlacle and RNP Capital Advisors.

Gartner forecasts AI security spending to hit $7.7 billion by 2028

The market for securing AI is projected to reach nearly $4.8 billion in 2027, a 68.7% jump from 2026, before climbing to $7.7 billion in 2028, according to Gartner. Rein's platform uses patented sidecar technology that monitors agent activity at runtime without routing company or customer data through a gateway or proxy, giving security teams visibility into every line of code an agent executes.

DIGITIMES Report: AI Data Centers Shift to 800VDC Power Architecture

Taipei – October 07, 2026 -- A new DIGITIMES Intelligence report finds that rising rack-level power demands from AI computing are pushing data center operators toward 800VDC power architecture, a shift set to redraw competitive lines across the semiconductor and infrastructure supply chain.

Rack power density is turning electricity delivery into a system-level design problem

As AI accelerators and GPUs scale compute density, DIGITIMES Intelligence notes that power delivery is no longer a facility-level afterthought. Operators and server makers must now jointly optimize conversion efficiency, power density, system footprint, and thermal management across the entire path from grid to chip.

CAEVES Launches Context LAKE to Cut AI Token Costs by 47x

New York – October 7, 2026 -- CAEVES Technology, Inc. will make its Context LAKETM platform generally available on October 20, 2026, extending AI data access beyond Microsoft Azure to any public, private, sovereign cloud, or on-premises datacenter environment.

Context LAKE cuts AI token consumption by up to 47 times in internal testing

CAEVES reports that its indexing and enrichment layer reduces the volume of raw content AI assistants must process per query, cutting token consumption by up to 47x and lowering associated AI token costs. Director of AI Innovation Kirk Ryan said the system allows an assistant to query once and retrieve the relevant passages with sources, rather than opening and paying to process file after file.

DoiT Partners With OpenAI to Track AI Spend on AWS

Santa Clara, Calif. – October 07, 2026 -- DoiT has partnered with OpenAI to help enterprises move AI workloads from pilot to production on Amazon Web Services while tracing every dollar of spend to the customer, feature or agent that generated it.

Monthly AI spend among DoiT's customer base has surged roughly 100-fold in two years

Across DoiT's more than 4,000 customers, AI expenditure has outpaced the tools available to measure returns, pushing finance and engineering leaders to justify which models, features and customers are driving cost -- and whether each pays off.

Simple Mining Buys Sphere 3D's 8 MW Iowa Site, Nears 160 MW

Cedar Falls, Iowa – October 07, 2026 -- Simple Mining has acquired an approximately 8 MW Bitcoin mining facility in Iowa from Sphere 3D Corp. (NASDAQ: ANY), pushing its total Iowa hosting platform to nearly 160 MW.

Acquired site adds 2,200 miners to Simple Mining's owned infrastructure

The facility supports roughly 2,200 latest-generation miners and expands the owned hosting capacity available to Simple Mining's customers, who purchase and host machines on the company's infrastructure. The site joins Simple Mining's existing network of Iowa facilities and will operate under the same in-house model covering machine sales, hosting, and repair.
