Minneapolis and Decatur, Alabama – October 01, 2026 -- Claros Technologies and Daikin America have signed a commercial agreement to permanently deploy the ClarosTechUVTM PFAS destruction system at Daikin's manufacturing facility in Decatur, Alabama, marking the first full-scale, long-term installation of the technology at an industrial site.
Pilot program advances to permanent industrial installation
The deal follows a multi-phase collaboration between the two companies that moved from pilot demonstration to commercial optimization and now to permanent deployment. The system will be integrated directly into Daikin's manufacturing operations as a continuously operating unit engineered for industrial-scale throughput, and will be incorporated into broader facility upgrades underway at the Decatur campus over the next several years.Technology destroys all PFAS chain lengths including TFA
ClarosTechUVTM is designed to destroy long, short and ultra-short fluorine chemistries, including TFA, at industrial scale. According to Claros, the platform permanently eliminates 99.99% of target PFAS species. The Decatur deployment will pair the destruction system with continuous analytical testing and performance verification through ClarosLabsTM, Claros' ISO/IEC 17025:2017-accredited laboratory division, creating a combined treatment, measurement and validation platform.Agreement extends beyond single site to global evaluation
The commercial agreement establishes a long-term strategic relationship between the two companies and opens the door to evaluating additional applications for ClarosTechUVTM across Daikin's global operations, beyond the single Decatur installation.Yuichi Hashikawa, CEO of Daikin America, Inc., said the agreement demonstrates the company's commitment to innovation and environmental stewardship while continuing to supply materials essential to critical industries. Michelle Bellanca, CEO and Co-Founder of Claros Technologies, called the deal "the defining commercial achievement in Claros' history," stating that manufacturers now have a proven, commercially available solution for destroying PFAS on-site as part of normal industrial operations, rather than transferring contaminants between waste streams.
