Global – October 12, 2026 -- CIQ Enterprise Linux Manager (ELM), the fleet lifecycle tool bundled with RLC Pro, runs a forward-only dependency check on draft content views so incompatible libraries surface before a patch reaches any production host.
CIQ frames the problem around operators who say the patch, not the CVE, took production down. An update can pull in an incompatible library or bump a version another component depends on. The conflict information exists before deployment, but teams often see it only after the change is live.
ELM flags dependency conflicts on unshipped drafts
Hosts install from content views, which are named, versioned snapshots of the packages and versions that ship together. When an administrator forks a new view to bring in an update, ELM maps the change forward through it. Conflicts appear on the draft without a full re-walk of the dependency tree.
If a package is held back, ELM keeps the outstanding CVEs visible on it, filterable by severity and CVSS score. Operators can weigh the avoided conflict against the exposure they carry on the held version.
Staged promotion moves views from development to test to production
ELM promotes a content view through administrator-defined stages. A change lands first on a small test group that mirrors production. The identical view is then elevated up the chain.
Signed, immutable snapshots feed the audit log
ELM signs each view at curation, and the signature travels with the immutable snapshot. Hosts install only approved content, and every promotion is written to the audit log. Security teams get a record of which signed version each host group runs, when it shipped and who promoted it.
Rollback re-points a host group to the prior snapshot
Because every version is immutable, recovery means pointing the host group at the previous snapshot rather than rebuilding from a repository. CIQ says the switch is immediate.
CIQ is directing prospects to sales engineers for sessions built around the customer's own content set, its riskiest pending change or a migration under evaluation.
