X-Bow Wins Booster Motor Role in U.S. Navy CHAOS Missile Program

ALBUQUERQUE – October 29, 2026 -- X-Bow Systems has won its seventh new propulsion program of 2026, after prime contractor CoAspire selected it to develop and produce the ground-launched solid rocket motor (SRM) boosters for the U.S. Navy's Coalition Heterogeneous Affordable Offensive Strike (CHAOS) program.

CHAOS targets an affordable, mass-producible cruise missile for U.S. allies

The program is designed to give U.S. allies a versatile strike capability against land and maritime targets. Its stated aims are to build collective deterrence and reduce reliance on expensive legacy stockpiles.

CoAspire CEO Doug Denneny described the weapon as an affordable, mid-range maritime strike system. He said the company's 56 first-tier suppliers across almost every state will support PMX-201, NAVAIR and coalition partners.

X-Bow's 2026 wins span the Navy, Army and Missile Defense Agency

The seven new propulsion programs cover all three customers. The CHAOS award follows X-Bow's first major production contract, which delivered more than 2,100 combat-ready rocket motors.

X-Bow reports that its revenue and backlog have more than doubled since 2023.

Additive manufacturing underpins X-Bow's cost pitch

Founder and CEO Jason Hundley said the company's digital-first manufacturing and proprietary Additive Manufacturing of Solid Propellant technology are built to deliver systems at "a cost and velocity the legacy industry can't match."

The release was approved for public release under NAVAIR Public Release No. SPR-2026-0555. The source gives no contract value or delivery schedule for the CHAOS booster motors.
