Vertiv Opens Johor Plant to Meet Asia's AI Infrastructure Demand

Columbus, Ohio – October 12, 2026 -- Vertiv (NYSE: VRT) has opened a manufacturing facility in Johor, Malaysia, to serve rising demand for AI and high-density computing infrastructure across Southeast Asia, North Asia, Australia and New Zealand. The site is expected to bring hundreds of skilled jobs to the region once fully operational in 2027.

The plant adds regional manufacturing, engineering, logistics and deployment capacity in one of Southeast Asia's fastest-growing industrial markets. Vertiv cites the site's regional connectivity and proximity to key technology and customer hubs.

Johor plant handles manufacturing, assembly and full-scale witness testing

The facility covers end-to-end manufacturing, assembly and full-scale witness testing of thermal and power infrastructure. Vertiv says validated performance reduces deployment risk and speeds time to capacity for enterprise, cloud and colocation customers.

CEO Giordano Albertazzi said the site is another step in Vertiv's ongoing capacity planning and deployment strategy, and that Asia remains one of the fastest-growing regions for AI and digital infrastructure investment.

Product lineup targets liquid cooling and prefabricated power

The Johor site will build the following products:

  • Vertiv CoolChip CDUs: coolant distribution units for liquid cooling, including direct-to-chip and rear door heat exchangers for high-density racks.
  • Vertiv Power Module and Power Skid: prefabricated power systems with integrated modular infrastructure. Vertiv says they can speed power deployment by up to 50% compared with traditional builds.
  • Vertiv SmartRun: a prefabricated overhead system that delivers white space fit-out as one unit, with high-density busway, liquid cooling piping and containment. Vertiv claims on-site deployment up to 85% faster than traditional methods.
Dedicated test environment validates cooling and power under site conditions

A dedicated test environment will validate liquid cooling and integrated power solutions under customer site conditions before shipment. It covers CDU testing across the full capacity range and simultaneous testing of multiple power modules and skids.

Vertiv did not disclose investment value, floor space or headcount figures for the facility.
