Vertiv Launches SmartIT Pre-Engineered AI Rack Platform for NVIDIA

Columbus – October 29, 2026 -- Vertiv Holdings Co. (NYSE: VRT) has introduced Vertiv SmartIT, a factory-validated AI infrastructure platform built on NVIDIA MGX and OCP ORV3 architectures, available now for global deployments.

The solution integrates rack infrastructure, DC power conversion and distribution, direct-to-chip liquid cooling, in-rack cooling distribution and monitoring. Vertiv validates these systems before shipment, which limits on-site commissioning to connections with facility power and cooling. It was previously deployed with NVIDIA to support the NVIDIA DGX GB300.

SmartIT supports four NVIDIA systems from single-rack to multi-rack scale

The platform supports NVIDIA GB300 NVL72, Vera Rubin NVL72, DGX Rubin NVL8 and HGX Rubin NVL8. Customers can expand from one rack to several without redesign between phases. Target buyers are enterprises, research institutions and colocation providers.

Vertiv targets brownfield and Class A commercial buildings

Vertiv says existing enterprise facilities and Class A commercial buildings can support AI-class density without full reconstruction. Customers get a single order and one partner spanning rack, power, cooling and monitoring, which reduces multi-vendor coordination.

Integrated leak detection, automated response and continuous monitoring are built in from day one. The platform supports Redfish, SNMP and Modbus, and Vertiv Global Services handles deployment, commissioning and lifecycle management.

Vertiv links SmartIT to SmartRun, rPDU and Unify for larger AI environments

Vertiv SmartRun extends integration across the row, and rack power distribution units provide power distribution and monitoring. Vertiv Unify adds monitoring, analytics and controls across power and thermal infrastructure.

Scott Armul, Chief Product and Technology Officer at Vertiv, said AI workloads require closer coordination across power, cooling and IT systems.

Vertiv showed a SmartIT unit with an NVIDIA HGX Rubin NVL8 demo at NVIDIA GTC Berlin in October.
