Phoenix – September 18, 2026 -- University of Phoenix has signed a new articulation agreement with York Technical College, giving eligible graduates of the South Carolina community college a defined transfer pathway into the university's online bachelor's degree programs.
University accepts up to 90 transfer credits under new pact
Under the agreement, eligible York Technical College students can apply up to 87 transfer credits toward many bachelor's degree programs at University of Phoenix, with select programs allowing up to 90 credits. The deal adds to a network the university describes as more than 500 articulation agreements with community colleges nationwide, alongside transfer credit acceptance from over 5,000 accredited institutions.

Over the past eight years, University of Phoenix has applied more than 7 million transfer credits, an amount the university estimates has saved students $3 billion in tuition and fees by reducing repeated coursework. John Woods, provost and chief academic officer at University of Phoenix, said the agreement supports learners balancing education with work and other responsibilities.
York Technical College serves 5,000 to 7,000 credit students annually
York Technical College, a public two-year institution founded in 1964, enrolls between 5,000 and 7,000 credit students each year across its main campus in Rock Hill, South Carolina, and an off-campus center in Chester, South Carolina. John McGill, Assistant Vice President for Academic Pathways at York Technical College, said the partnership allows students in both university transfer and technical programs to pursue online bachelor's degrees while working and supporting families.
