New York – September 25, 2026 -- ADAPT Community Network opened its Smart Living Center in the Bronx, a home-like facility built to test and demonstrate accessible technology for people with disabilities across New York City and the Hudson Valley.

Glendale, Calif. – September 23, 2026 -- Linc Housing and National CORE have opened Pioneer Village, a 340-home affordable housing community in Glendale, California, drawing more than 7,500 applications for its units.

Development delivers 340 homes across three five-story buildings on 2.79 acres

Located at 515 Pioneer Drive, the elevator-served complex includes 92 units for low-income seniors aged 62 and older, 245 family units, and three apartments for on-site staff. Homes are affordable to households earning between 30% and 80% of area median income. Construction began in January 2023 and finished in July 2026, with resident move-ins starting in June.

Hallandale Beach – September 22, 2026 -- The Hallandale Beach Community Redevelopment Agency (HBCRA) has authorized up to $11.2 million in proposed payments to Vessel Technologies to build 53 affordable homes across two HBCRA-owned properties, marking the housing product company's first-ever partnership with a community redevelopment agency and its entry into South Florida.

HBCRA board approves two-site affordable housing package on September 14

The HBCRA Board of Directors voted at its September 14 meeting to move forward with Vessel on developments at 128-132 S.E. 2nd Terrace, planned for 23 units, and 414 S.E. 3rd Ave., planned for 30 units. Both sites are HBCRA-owned properties identified for affordable housing redevelopment, putting underutilized land back into productive use.

UN Secretary-General urges companies to deploy capital and purchasing power

Hosted by the UN Global Compact on behalf of Secretary-General António Guterres, the invitation-only session pressed business leaders to close the gap between existing climate commitments and the pace of change needed to keep the 1.5°C target within reach. Guterres told participants that companies possess the capital, technology, supply chains and consumer base to "supercharge the renewables revolution" through direct investment in clean power and energy efficiency, and by using purchasing power to build markets for clean technologies.
