Commentary: AI Expands Talent Management Rather Than Ending It

Global – October 17, 2026 -- Talent management is not disappearing under AI pressure. According to a new commentary, it is shifting from administering separate HR processes to managing the capabilities a business needs, with human and AI capabilities now handled side by side.

Separate talent processes are giving way to capability management

The author argues that talent management was long built around independent processes: performance management, succession, learning and workforce planning. Technology mirrored that structure, and organizations bought systems and modules to automate each activity.

The business, however, does not experience talent that way. A capability gap may call for training, but it may equally call for a hire, an internal move, a redesigned job or longer-term development. The commentary adds a fifth option: some of the work may be better performed or augmented by AI.

Brandon Hall Group Defines Workforce Intelligence as New HCM Category

Global – October 17, 2026 -- Brandon Hall Group began tracking Workforce Intelligence as a distinct HCM technology category in 2025, arguing that vendors using the term are often describing different capabilities.

Brandon Hall Group defines Workforce Intelligence as continuous, connected understanding of workforce and work

The analyst firm defines the category as the continuous understanding of the workforce, the work being performed, available skills and the external talent market, using connected data to improve workforce and business decisions. Workforce movement is central to that definition: hires, exits, internal moves, and shifts in turnover, attendance, scheduling, compensation and employee sentiment.

VHHA Solutions Endorses Andor Health's ThinkAndor in Virginia

Virginia – October 17, 2026 -- VHHA Solutions, an affiliate of the Virginia Hospital & Healthcare Association, has named Andor Health's ThinkAndor® an endorsed platform for hospitals and care providers across Virginia, extending the AI-driven system beyond acute care into senior living and behavioral health.

Endorsement targets fragmented care technology

The partnership addresses health systems that run separate tools for virtual care, communication, monitoring and care coordination. ThinkAndor is designed to replace that patchwork with a single AI-powered infrastructure covering the path from the digital front door to post-acute follow-up.

Andor Health Tops Black Book Virtual Care Survey Fourth Straight Year

United States – October 17, 2026 -- Andor Health ranked #1 in overall client satisfaction in the 2026 Black Book survey of non-EHR virtual care platforms, its fourth consecutive year at the top. Its ThinkAndor agentic AI platform scored 9.75 out of 10.

More than 1,100 healthcare professionals across care settings contributed feedback to the survey. ThinkAndor led in 14 of 18 performance categories tied to enterprise virtual care execution. These included clinical workflow integration and usability, interoperability across systems and devices, care team collaboration and escalation support, AI-assisted automation and workflow orchestration, and customer support and long-term partnership quality.

United States – October 17, 2026 -- Andor Health has expanded ThinkAndor with multimodal agentic AI that runs voice-based and conversational patient interactions from initial access through post-acute follow-up, targeting the fragmented patient communication that drives call center costs and clinician workload.

ThinkAndor agents initiate and manage patient conversations

The agents start and manage conversations rather than waiting for patients to navigate portals, websites and phone systems. According to the announcement, they read patient context in real time, recommend next best actions and coordinate workflows behind the scenes.

Platform covers four stages of the care continuum

ThinkAndor's multimodal infrastructure orchestrates conversations across four stages:

Andor Health Hits CMS General Availability, Targets ACCESS Model

Andor Health Hits CMS General Availability, Targets ACCESS Model

United States – October 17, 2026 -- Andor Health has reached General Availability in the CMS Health Technology Ecosystem initiative, with millions of patients across dozens of health systems already using its ThinkAndor® platform.

CMS recognized the company for patient-facing capabilities that ThinkAndor® has delivered since its inception. Patients use the platform to access care, retrieve health information, interact with Conversational AI, complete digital intake and connect with clinician-reviewed guidance.

Andor treats interoperability as infrastructure, not the outcome

Andor argues that a connected healthcare system is not necessarily a better one. Patients still face fragmented journeys, clinicians still spend significant time on coordination and administrative work, and health systems still assemble multiple vendors for different parts of care.

MUSC Virtual Nursing Scales to 57 Units, Frees 10.2 FTEs of Capacity

South Carolina – October 17, 2026 -- The Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) expanded its virtual nursing program from five inpatient units to 57 units across four regions in about two and a half years, and estimates $2.4 million in savings from reduced nurse turnover on early adopter units, according to research from its Telehealth Center of Excellence.

MUSC program freed capacity equal to 10.2 full-time nurses

Across more than 23,500 virtual nursing encounters, the program generated capacity equivalent to approximately 10.2 full-time nursing positions. The program runs on the ThinkAndor® platform.

Of the bedside nurses surveyed, 87% reported a decrease in overall workload. Seventy-six percent said they spent less time documenting admissions and discharges, and 68% reported more time for patient rounding.

United States – October 17, 2026 -- ThinkAndor® Remote Patient Monitoring is now available in Epic Toolbox under the Remote Patient Monitoring category, giving health systems an AI-native option that bundles connected devices, automation, workflow integration and clinical staffing.

ThinkAndor RPM prioritizes patients instead of adding to alert queues

The platform continuously analyzes incoming patient data to flag potential clinical concerns and rank patients who may need intervention. Clinicians keep responsibility for clinical judgment but no longer act as the first manual filter for every reading. The pitch targets a known failure point in RPM: more devices produce more readings, alerts and queues for already stretched teams.

Every enrolled patient receives outreach within 48 hours of discharge

Andor Health's ThinkAndor platform uses AI to automate initial outreach, analyze clinical information, prioritize emerging needs and prepare clinicians for patient encounters. Patients who need additional support can be escalated to a care coordinator.

Across transitional care workflows, Andor reports a 63% reduction in clinician time spent on non-clinical tasks per encounter and an 82% reduction in non-actionable monitoring alerts.

Irvine – October 17, 2026 -- Masimo, a Danaher company, has received FDA 510(k) clearance for atrial fibrillation (AFib) detection on its Radius VSM monitor. The feature showed 97% sensitivity and 100% specificity in clinical validation testing, according to the company.

The AFib capability joins the company's previously cleared, AI-enabled detection of opioid-induced respiratory depression (OIRD) under the smartSET platform. Masimo describes smartSET as the next evolution of its Signal Extraction Technology (SET) pulse oximetry, which draws on more than 35 years of signal-processing development.
