Ho Chi Minh City – September 23, 2026 -- STARCARES, the corporate social responsibility programme of global multi-asset broker STARTRADER, delivered gift sets, household essentials and cash support to 213 people at SOS Children's Village Ho Chi Minh City in Go Vap during a Mid-Autumn Festival event called "A Full Moon for Every Child."
Aid reaches 60 children and 213 total beneficiaries at the Go Vap village
Every child at the village received a gift set containing a lantern, cookies, a water bottle, a milk pack and a colouring kit. Hygiene, cleaning and pantry supplies were distributed to village houses, alongside financial support for operating costs, reaching house mothers and staff among the 213 recipients.
Funding cuts since 2023 leave village support committed only through 2026
SOS Children's Village Ho Chi Minh City provides long-term, family-based care and education for approximately 160 children, from infants through university students, who have lost or are at risk of losing parental care. International aid cuts since 2023 have pressured village operations, with remaining funding committed only through 2026. Contributions support tuition, caregiver salaries and the infrastructure that keeps these families together.
STARCARES commits to recurring aid under its Child Welfare pillar
STARCARES structures its support as recurring commitments rather than one-off donations, operating under a Child Welfare & Community Aid pillar. Peter Karsten, CEO of STARTRADER, said the goal is to make the practical side of village operations "steadier, so the people raising these children can plan instead of improvise."
Hoang Long, Director of SOS Children's Village Ho Chi Minh City, said the support eases pressure on households while signaling to children that they are cared for. STARCARES intends to extend this model of aid across other communities where STARTRADER operates.
