The 2026 edition elevates its political profile with Anne Hidalgo, former Mayor of Paris and Global Ambassador of the Global Covenant of Mayors for Climate & Energy, joined by Andre Dickens (Mayor of Atlanta), Haris Doukas (Mayor of Athens), Giuseppe Sala (Mayor of Milan), Gergely Karácsony (Mayor of Budapest), Daryl Barron (Lord Mayor of Dublin) and Yvonne Aki-Sawyer (Mayor of Freetown).
Housing summit debuts alongside three concurrent congresses
SCEWC runs jointly with Tomorrow.Mobility World Congress, the newly launched HOWS Barcelona – Housing World Summit, and Tomorrow.Blue Economy. Barcelona City Council will host the Housing Mayors Meeting and Roundtable under HOWS Barcelona, positioning housing policy as a central institutional track.
Tech giants anchor a 1,100-exhibitor commercial floor
Corporate participation includes Google, Microsoft, NVIDIA, Dell Technologies and Veolia among more than 1,100 exhibitors. Speakers from industry include Kees Hertogh, Vice President of Global Industry Marketing at Microsoft; Nam Guan Ng, General Manager and Head of Global Smart Cities at Dell; and John Li, General Manager of the Global Government Business Department at Dahua Technology.
Bloomberg Philanthropies and ITU bring data-governance expertise
Rochelle Haynes, Managing Director of What Works Cities at Bloomberg Philanthropies, will address how local governments use data and evidence to improve public services. Bilel Jamoussi, Deputy Director of the ITU Telecommunication Standardization Bureau, will also speak, alongside AI strategist Nikolas Badminton, Chief Futurist at Futurist.com, who delivers the congress keynote.
