Elizabeth, N.J. – September 22, 2026 -- New Jersey fast-casual chain Salad House catered a free, full-day youth basketball camp in Elizabeth as part of a growing NIL partnership with local high school standout Jayden Johnson.
Salad House delivers signature wraps to fuel young athletes at Elizabeth camp
The brand supplied platters of its Buffalo Chicken Wrap and Crispy Mutha Clucka Wrap during a lunch break at the Fred Erxleben Recreation Center, feeding campers between morning and afternoon basketball sessions. The camp offered free skill development, competition, and mentorship for local boys and girls.
Johnson's personal use of Salad House locations shaped the brand tie-up
Johnson, an Elizabeth native, regularly visits Salad House's Newark and Westfield locations for pregame and postgame meals, a habit that led him to bring the brand in as a partner when organizing the camp. "Salad House is already somewhere I personally like to eat before and after games, so having them step up and help feed everybody made the partnership feel real and authentic," Johnson said.
Salad House chairman frames the deal as community-driven, not transactional
"Being able to provide lunch and help fuel an entire day of basketball was exactly the type of impact we want these partnerships to have," said Jerry Eicke, Salad House Chairman, noting the company backed the initiative after learning what Johnson had built for Elizabeth youth.
Johnson's on-court résumé includes a 2024 state title and 1,000 career points
Johnson helped Elizabeth capture a 2024 state championship and surpassed 1,000 career points before finishing his high school career at St. Thomas More in Connecticut. Jersey Sports Group represents him for NIL and marketing deals.
The camp marks one of several athlete partnerships Salad House has pursued across the region, linking its restaurant network to local sports and community programming in the markets it serves.
