Renault Formalises LCV Conversion Offer With Factory-Built "converted by Renault" Programme

SHERIDAN, WYOMING -- June 15, 2026 -- Renault is launching "converted by Renault," a structured range of factory-built light commercial vehicle conversions available across its European dealer network. The programme consolidates the brand's conversion capabilities — including its Qstomize subsidiary and a 300-strong certified body converter network — under a single ordering and warranty framework. For business customers, it means shorter delivery times, a unified invoice, and a single point of contact within the Renault network.

Conversions Sit at the Core of Renault's LCV Business

One in every two Renault light commercial vehicles is converted before it reaches a business customer. That figure makes the conversion segment structurally central to how Renault sells and delivers its commercial range — not a secondary service tier, but a primary part of the product offer.

Renault has provided business adaptations for over a century. The vehicle types involved span a wide operational spectrum: ambulances, refrigerated vehicles, mobile workshops, tippers, breakdown recovery units, and vehicles adapted for people with reduced mobility, among others. The launch of "converted by Renault" is less a new capability than a formalisation of what was already embedded in the brand's LCV practice.

What the Factory-Built Programme Actually Changes for Buyers

The operational case for "converted by Renault" rests on three specific improvements over the existing purchase process. First, ordering is simplified to a single contact within the Renault dealer network, with one invoice covering the full vehicle and conversion. Second, delivery times are reduced by an average of 30%. Third, the conversion is covered by a single 100% Renault warranty — and if the converted part of the vehicle needs repair, it can be handled directly within the Renault network.

There is also a commercial dimension for fleet managers and owner-operators: the residual value calculation for resale now includes the converted element of the vehicle. That is a meaningful financial detail for businesses that cycle fleet assets on a defined replacement schedule.

Jan Ptacek, Vice-President of the Renault Brand LCV Business Unit, described the programme's logic in direct terms:

"'converted by Renault' offers a host of advantages for business customers. They can order a ready-to-use converted vehicle with complete peace of mind and the full support of the Renault network. This solution showcases the know-how, expertise and flexibility of our three French plants, Maubeuge, Sandouville and Batilly, producing Kangoo, Trafic and Master respectively."

Model Coverage and Plant-Level Production

"converted by Renault" is currently available on three model lines. For Kangoo, it covers crew cab configurations. For Trafic, it covers five- and six-seater crew cab variants. For Master, the programme includes dropside flatbed bodies, single- and triple-axle tippers, and large-capacity vehicles between 20 and 23 cubic metres, with crew cab models described as coming soon.

The future Trafic E-Tech electric is also confirmed as an upcoming platform within the programme. All factory conversions are produced across Renault's three French LCV plants: Maubeuge for Kangoo, Sandouville for Trafic, and Batilly for Master.

Ordering is available through any of the brand's 2,700 European dealerships. Renault PRO+ showrooms will carry display vehicles from the converted range, and sales staff across the network have been trained to support business customer enquiries.

Qstomize Handles Bespoke Requirements Beyond the Standard Range

For customers whose operational requirements exceed the standard programme, Renault's subsidiary Qstomize provides an additional layer of customisation. Qstomize builds bespoke solutions covering storage configurations, vehicle protection, specific functional adaptations, and signage.

The intent is clear: "converted by Renault" handles the volume conversion offer efficiently, while Qstomize absorbs the more complex or individualised briefs that fall outside that standardised scope.

300 Certified Body Converters Anchor the European Network

Beyond Qstomize and the factory programme, Renault operates a network of 300 approved body converters across Europe. Selection is based on defined quality and management standards, with accreditation valid for three years and followed by annual assessments. Certified converters are permitted to sell vehicles that have been converted, approved, and homologated by the manufacturer.

These partners are not purely external suppliers. They contribute during the early stages of vehicle development, which is why Renault LCVs — including the forthcoming Trafic E-Tech electric — are designed to be conversion-ready from the outset.

The commercial scale of this ecosystem is substantial. Zakaria Zeghari, VP Sales and Marketing for the LCV Business Unit, noted that 70% of all Renault Master conversions are handled collectively by "converted by Renault," Qstomize, and the approved body converter network. He tied this adaptability directly to the Master's market performance, describing it as Europe's best-selling heavy van since the start of 2026.
