PV3 Enterprises Reopens Utah Track as West Desert After $50M Investment

Grantsville, Utah – September 20, 2026 -- PV3 Enterprises has poured more than $50 million into the former Utah Motorsports Campus since acquiring the 511-acre site earlier this year, rebranding the facility as West Desert and reopening it to the public after a 20-year run under its original ownership.

PV3 Enterprises returns the 511-acre campus to local Utah ownership

The Tooele County facility, located 30 minutes from Salt Lake City, first opened in 2006 as Miller Motorsports Park. Mark Hancock, Managing Partner of PV3 Enterprises, said the rebrand marks "a new lap" for the venue following its sale to the Utah-based investment group.

Track specs include a 0.7-mile front straight and 4.5-mile road course

West Desert's amenities include one of the longest front straights in the country at 0.7 miles, a 4.5-mile road course, a 0.9-mile karting track, off-road facilities, a skidpad, grandstands and event spaces. General Manager Joe Atkin said the $50 million already deployed covers property-wide improvements, with additional significant capital planned in coming years.

Development plans add residential, commercial and retail components

Beyond track upgrades to the grand prix circuit, paddock, garages and grandstands aimed at attracting major racing franchises, PV3 Enterprises intends to build residential, commercial and retail offerings around the circuit to create a year-round motorsports community. Utah Governor Spencer Cox called the facility's return to local ownership a milestone for the state's motorsports history.

Public grand re-opening runs September 19 with free admission

West Desert opened to the public with a ribbon-cutting and inaugural laps, followed by a community celebration on Saturday, September 19, 2026, from 1 p.m. to midnight with free admission and parking. An All Access Pass allows guests to purchase Hot Laps with professional drivers across the main track, drifting, off-road and karting surfaces, alongside an exotic car show from 4-8 p.m. and Roll Racing from 6-10 p.m.
