Power Hour Starts 365-Day Countdown to 2027 Guinness Record Bid

NEW YORK – October 27, 2026 -- The Power Hour and the Power Play Impact Fund have started a 365-day countdown to a Guinness World Records attempt in October 2027, aiming to synchronize 60 minutes of physical movement across countries, communities and companies.

Launch event at TikTok's New York headquarters opened Advertising Week

The initiative was announced at a gathering hosted at TikTok Headquarters in New York City on the opening day of Advertising Week New York. Attendees included professional athletes, business leaders, family offices, health and wellness leaders and innovators. October 5 was day one of the countdown.

Participation is free and open to any form of movement

Walking, running, dancing and yoga all count. There is no qualifying time, required sport or athletic threshold. The organizers describe the project as an inclusive global movement rather than a traditional fitness event, and participation costs nothing.

Power Play Impact Fund targets four wellness areas for youth

The Power Play Impact Fund is the project's funding arm. It is meant to raise awareness and money for youth and community initiatives in physical, mental, nutritional and financial wellness. LOHAS acts as its fiscal sponsor administrator.

Founder Angella Goran, a former professional cyclist, said the goal goes beyond a record: "We create lasting impact for youth and communities." The organizers plan to use technology, social platforms, connected fitness and community activations to aggregate individual participation into one synchronized moment.

Athlete partners include Gasol Foundation, Angela Ruggiero and Jerome Williams

Named partners are former NBA player Jerome Williams, founder of Shooting for Peace; four-time Olympic medalist Angela Ruggiero, founder of Sports Innovation Lab and Women's Sports Club, which GENIUS acquired in 2026; the Gasol Foundation, founded by Pau Gasol; and Dr. Jen Welter, founder of Grrridiron Girls Foundation. Dallas-based The Uptown Agency supports communications and other projects.
