Byron Holman, an ICU nurse and co-founder of 1st Choice Development, is integrating OASYS into the company's first duplex and single-family home currently under development. Holman said the goal is to extend healthier, higher-performing housing features to everyday homeowners rather than reserving them for luxury construction.
OASYS system combines ventilation, filtration and humidity control in one unit
Panasonic OASYS continuously introduces filtered outdoor air rather than recirculating indoor air, while managing humidity and energy use through a single integrated system. Bill Meyers, Group Manager of Technical Sales at PESNA, said the partnership pairs Holman's healthcare background with Panasonic's engineering to make healthier indoor environments a standard feature rather than a premium add-on.
Gulf Coast climate conditions drive builder's design approach
Houston's hot, humid climate creates year-round indoor air challenges including excess moisture, seasonal allergens and outdoor ozone infiltration. Construction Manager and co-owner Antonio Sanchez, who brings nearly a decade of construction experience, said the OASYS integration aligns with the company's approach to building high-performance homes for Gulf Coast conditions.
Two homes serve as initial proof points near Downtown Houston
The first OASYS-equipped homes—a new construction duplex and a single-family home—are under development near Downtown Houston.
