Vancouver – September 23, 2026 -- OceanaGold Corporation (TSX: OGC) (NYSE: OGC) confirmed that President and CEO Gerard Bond will retire in April 2027, ending a five-year tenure that saw the gold and copper producer post sustained gains in operational and financial performance.

Board Hires Spencer Stuart to Lead Global CEO Search

OceanaGold's Board of Directors has engaged Spencer Stuart, an international executive search firm, to evaluate internal and external candidates for the top role. Bond has agreed to remain CEO through his departure in the second quarter of 2027 and will subsequently serve as Special Advisor to the Board and his successor for a further six months to support the transition.

Departure Timed Against Ausgold Acquisition and 2026 Production Targets

Bond said the company remains on track to meet its 2026 production guidance while integrating the Katanning Gold Project through its pending acquisition of Ausgold. He joined OceanaGold in 2022 after 30 years in the resources industry and plans to retire in Australia.

Chairman Cites Strategic Transformation Across Five Pillars

Board Chairman Paul Benson credited Bond with transforming the company across safety, culture, cost-effective growth, financial strength and investor relations, translating into strong relative shareholder returns. "Our role as a Board is to secure the best possible leader for the Company," Benson said, adding that the transition timeline and Bond's advisory commitment are designed to ensure continuity.

Company Maintains Four-Mine Portfolio Amid Leadership Shift

OceanaGold operates the wholly-owned Haile Gold Mine in the United States, the wholly-owned Macraes and Waihi operations in New Zealand, and the 80%-owned Didipio Mine in the Philippines. Benson said the company's capital allocation strategy, cashflow generation and growth pipeline are not expected to change as a result of the leadership transition.
