Nuix Launches AI Chat for Legal Document Review in Discover SaaS

Sydney – September 10, 2026 -- Nuix has moved into general availability for generative AI features within its Nuix Discover SaaS platform, and rolled out a new AI Chat tool under an Early Adopter program, with full launch scheduled for December 2026.

Nuix Discover adds document summaries, semantic search and visual clustering to eDiscovery workflow

The generative AI suite, announced September 4, integrates document summaries, similar-document detection, semantic search, and aggregation with visualizations directly into Nuix's legal review and eDiscovery solution. Each document now receives an automatic plain-language summary upon import, allowing reviewers to quickly parse lengthy contracts, complex attachments, and long email threads.

AI Chat lets lawyers query case data in natural language with full audit trail

The new conversational interface allows reviewers, lawyers, and investigators to ask questions about case data in natural language and receive synthesized answers sourced directly from document content. Document references and every interaction are logged to create a complete, court-ready audit trail.

"AI Chat lets teams simply ask questions and get answers that are grounded in their case data -- answers that are justifiable and verifiable. That is the standard the legal profession demands, and it's what sets Nuix apart," said Ilona Meyer, Executive Vice President of Nuix Discover.

Semantic search and aggregation tools target early case assessment triage

Semantic search identifies relevant documents based on meaning rather than exact keyword matches, reducing the risk of missing documents that use different phrasing. Aggregation and visualization tools group documents by theme, giving review teams an early view of key issues, hot topics, concentrations, outliers, and relationships between document clusters -- shaping review strategy and prioritization from day one.

Meyer said the features are embedded across both early case assessment (ECA) and full review stages, enabling faster triage with greater accuracy than traditional methods and giving teams confidence in deciding which cases proceed to full review, with every insight traceable to source data.

On-premises version of features to follow within next quarter

Generative AI features -- document summaries, semantic search, similar documents, AI aggregation, and visualizations -- are now available to all Nuix Discover SaaS users and will extend to the on-premises version of Nuix Discover next quarter.
