NAVER D2SF Backs ImpriMed's $10M Round for AI Cancer Diagnostics

Seoul – September 20, 2026 -- NAVER D2SF, the in-house corporate venture arm of NAVER, has joined a $10 million Series A2 bridge round for Silicon Valley-based precision medicine company ImpriMed, backing its push toward U.S. regulatory clearance and Asian market expansion.

ImpriMed targets FDA clearance and CLIA certification by Q1 2027 for its blood cancer platform

The company is preparing to commercialize diagnostic products for blood cancers and blood infection in the United States, having already established business partnerships with major U.S. hospitals. ImpriMed's xCellSense platform keeps patient-derived cancer cells viable outside the body for extended periods, allowing evaluation of drug sensitivity alongside genomic, immunophenotypic and clinical data. The company's AI models are trained on more than 3.5 million data points combining real-world data with functional cell analysis.

South Korea's drug regulator designates ImpriMed software an Innovative Medical Device

In South Korea, ImpriMed has developed software for multiple myeloma prognosis and therapy-response prediction. The Ministry of Food and Drug Safety has designated the software an Innovative Medical Device, and it is progressing through approval and commercialization. ImpriMed collaborates with tertiary hospitals including Catholic University Seoul St. Mary's Hospital, Seoul Asan Medical Center and Gangneung Asan Hospital.

Veterinary business has run more than 27,000 tests across five countries

ImpriMed's human-health expansion is underpinned by its established veterinary precision oncology business and a growing contract research organization operation in drug development. The company has performed more than 27,000 tests for canine and feline lymphoma across the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, France and South Korea, with solutions used by over 600 veterinary hospitals. A retrospective study published in a peer-reviewed journal found a threefold increase in survival time and a fourfold improvement in treatment response among tested cases.

LB Investment leads round following $23 million Series A in 2023

The $10 million bridge round was led by LB Investment, with new investors NAVER D2SF, Samsung Securities and Alois Ventures joining alongside follow-on capital from existing backers BonAngels and Han River Partners. The round follows ImpriMed's $23 million Series A closed in 2023. ImpriMed was co-founded in Silicon Valley by CEO Sungwon Lim and CTO Jamin Koo, who studied together at KAIST and Stanford University. Beyond North America, the company plans further expansion into European and Asian markets.
