L2 Brands Names John Fryer CEO to Drive Next Growth Phase

Hanover, Pa. – September 28, 2026 -- L2 Brands, a premium custom-decorated apparel and headwear maker, appointed John Fryer as Chief Executive Officer effective September 28, 2026, tasking him with leading the company's fully integrated commercial, product, supply chain and manufacturing operations.

Fryer arrives from Unrivaled Teamwear's Hanesbrands carve-out

Fryer most recently served as President of Unrivaled Teamwear, a carve-out from Hanesbrands that operates the Champion Teamwear, Gear for Sports and Knights Apparel brands. His background spans activewear, teamwear and collegiate-channel businesses.

L2 targets expansion across collegiate, resort, golf and corporate markets

L2 Brands, a portfolio company of private equity firm Sentinel Capital Partners, operates across five brands: League, Legacy, Ouray, Locale and the newly acquired Wild Tribute. The company has expanded its portfolio and capabilities over the past several years while maintaining premium product positioning and a responsive supply chain.

Interim Co-CEO and Legacy Headwear co-founder Paige Wingert said the search prioritized a leader who understood L2's people, brands, customers and three-decade culture. Interim Co-CEO Evan Toporek pointed to Fryer's track record building consumer businesses and his focus on customers, brands and operational execution as decisive factors.

Interim co-CEOs to return to board roles after transition

Wingert and Toporek, who led L2 Brands during the leadership transition, will work with Fryer to ensure continuity before returning to their positions on the company's Board of Directors.

Fryer said he sees an opportunity to build on L2's reputation for product quality, customer relationships and its workforce, and plans to spend time with employees, customers and partners as he takes over operations.
