Kin Insurance Opens Digital Platform to Meta's Muse AI Shopping Agent

Chicago – – September 30, 2026 -- Kin Insurance said it will allow consumers using Meta's Muse AI agent and other AI shopping agents to obtain home insurance quotes directly through its digital platform, breaking from insurers and marketplaces that are moving to block AI agent access.

Kin opens its platform while rivals erect barriers

Kin Founder and CEO Sean Harper said the company will not block Muse, arguing that AI agents represent a shopping channel poised to grow as significantly as the web itself. Harper said many home insurers still lack online quoting capabilities, a gap that limits their ability to capture traffic from AI-driven shopping tools.

Direct-to-consumer model removes broker conflict

Harper said insurers and agencies built around broker and independent-agent distribution have incentive to resist AI agents because the technology can displace commission-based sales work. Kin, which operates as a direct-to-consumer home insurer, said it does not distinguish between traffic from a web browser and traffic from an AI agent acting on a customer's behalf.

Muse retrieved quotes with minimal customer input in testing

In Kin's internal testing, Meta's Muse agent obtained home insurance quotes from Kin after asking customers only a handful of questions. Kin attributed the speed to its existing dataset covering nearly all individual homes, which reduces the information an AI agent needs to collect before generating a quote.

Harper said Kin's strategy is to make its pricing and coverage information accessible regardless of whether the shopper is a person or an AI agent operating on that person's behalf.
