Nanchang – September 30, 2026 -- The Jiangxi China-Africa Gen-Z Youth Entrepreneurship Competition concluded on September 29 after drawing 147 eligible entrepreneurial proposals, with 56 percent submitted by mixed Chinese-African teams, organizers said.
Sixteen finalist projects competed for prizes spanning healthcare, agriculture and mining
After multiple evaluation rounds, 16 high-quality projects advanced to the final pitch stage in Nanchang, Jiangxi Province. The proposals addressed practical China-Africa cooperation needs, ranging from healthcare and vocational training to modern agriculture and mining. Six projects won first, second and third prizes, while 10 received excellence awards.
Bamboo Bridges and an AIGC digital platform led the final showcase
Two projects, "The Bamboo Bridges China-Africa: Coolness Co-Creation Project" and a "Jiangxi-Based Vertical AIGC Digital Collaboration Platform," were presented at the award ceremony as examples of youth-led innovation targeting shared development opportunities. Guests subsequently presented awards to winning teams and mentors.
The event closes out the 2026 Gen-Z entrepreneurship platform series
The ceremony marked completion of the 2026 Gen-Z China-Africa Youth Entrepreneurship Platform Series. A roundtable discussion following the presentations brought together judges, Jiangxi-based enterprises with African market ties, Chinese youth participants and university career guidance instructors to discuss digital tools for cross-border cooperation and entrepreneurship.
The competition launched in January alongside a new youth entrepreneurship alliance
The Jiangxi China-Africa Youth Entrepreneurship Alliance was established in Nanchang in January, coinciding with the competition's launch, as part of activities marking 2026 as the China-Africa Year of People-to-People Exchanges. African youth representative Emmanuel Edward said he hoped the competition would continue to expand as a platform for China-Africa youth entrepreneurship.
