InventHelp Unveils Patent-Pending Rack to Shield Box Trucks

Pittsburgh – September 20, 2026 -- An inventor from Dallastown, Pennsylvania has developed a patent-pending protective device for commercial box trucks aimed at reducing costly damage from overhead hazards, InventHelp announced.

Device targets low-clearance obstacles that cause frequent box truck damage

THE 717 RACK is designed to attach to commercial box trucks to minimize exposure to low-hanging obstacles encountered during everyday routes and deliveries. "I wanted to create something that would help reduce the risk of damage caused by everyday driving conditions," the inventor said. "My idea would provide a proactive way to help safeguard vehicles while improving efficiency and peace of mind for drivers and fleet operators."

Fewer repairs and less downtime could improve fleet efficiency

InventHelp said the device may help extend the lifespan of commercial box trucks by limiting collision damage. Reduced exposure to overhead hazards is also expected to cut unplanned repairs, lowering maintenance costs and service interruptions for fleet operators.

Inventor seeks manufacturer or marketer to license the design

The invention is available for licensing or sale to companies interested in bringing it to market, InventHelp said. Kolby Heberlig, representing the inventor, can be contacted at (717) 916-7718 for licensing inquiries.
