Beverly Hills, Calif. – September 19, 2026 -- The Idaho National Laboratory (INL) Foundation and MicroNuclear, LLC have signed an agreement to jointly advance the Molten Salt Nuclear Battery (MsNB), a compact 20 MW thermal microreactor designed for resilient power and industrial process heat.

Five-party team assembles engineering and manufacturing expertise for MsNB development

The collaboration pairs INL Foundation and MicroNuclear with EXP, Premier Technology, Inc. and Porter House Inc. to cover detailed engineering, safety and licensing work, prototype manufacturing, first-fission testing and a repeatable deployment model. The group will also document design milestones and support government review and regulatory pathways ahead of demonstration and commercial-scale adoption.

MsNB targets a 10-year battery interval before fuel and salt recovery

MicroNuclear describes the MsNB as a cyber-protected, natural-circulation molten salt reactor intended to run at full power for roughly a decade before returning to a centralized facility for fuel and salt recovery and recycling. Target applications include critical infrastructure, military and government facilities, remote or isolated grids, industrial process heat and potential hydrogen production.

INL Foundation to back early fundraising and lab access

INL Foundation will support early fundraising for the project, help facilitate access to Idaho National Laboratory, and promote the MsNB through its investor events. Early contributions toward MsNB testing may qualify for tax-deductible treatment, subject to applicable requirements. Testing is expected to take place at INL or other U.S. Department of Energy national laboratories under separate agreements.

CEO cites disciplined path from concept to licensing
