Houston – September 17, 2026 -- Hornbeck Offshore Services, Inc. (NYSE: HOS) said its subsidiary Helix Well Ops (U.K.) Limited has secured a multi-year decommissioning contract with a major North Sea operator, set to begin in the second quarter of 2027 with a firm two-year term and customer options to extend.
Contract covers riserless plug and abandonment work using purpose-built vessels
Hornbeck will perform the operations using either the Well Enhancer or Seawell, both riserless well intervention vessels. The award includes a fully integrated service package: vessel deployment, a Subsea Intervention Lubricator well access system, ROVs, saturation diving, and project management and engineering support delivered under a single contract.
CEO ties award to prior North Sea track record
Todd M. Hornbeck, President and CEO, said the contract "builds directly on Hornbeck's previous success and strengthens our expertise in delivering safe, efficient, rigless decommissioning solutions in the North Sea." The company frames the deal as validation of its integrated asset base for offshore well abandonment work ahead of the 2027 start date.
