Global Sources HK Show Opens With 4,000 Booths Ahead of EU DPP Rules

Hong Kong – October 11, 2026 -- Phase I of the October 2026 Global Sources Hong Kong Shows opened at AsiaWorld-Expo with more than 4,000 booths and over 2,100 Asian suppliers, running October 11 to 14. The Consumer Electronics Show and Gaming Show are held concurrently, covering PC peripherals, gaming peripherals, audio-visual equipment, automotive electronics, personal transporters, photography accessories, and batteries and power products.

Greater Bay Area makers anchor the PC accessory and gaming floor

The floor features more than 1,600 PC accessory booths and nearly 500 gaming peripheral booths. Another nearly 1,900 booths cover audio-visual equipment, automotive electronics, personal transporters, photography accessories, and batteries and power consumer electronics.

Exhibitors from the Greater Bay Area include Loctek, CE-LINK, RXGAMER, Brateck, Havit, AULA, MCHOSE, ATK, TITAN, and Huntkey. They show high-refresh-rate monitors, mechanical keyboards, gaming headsets, ergonomic chairs, chassis, controllers, and monitor arms. According to the organizer, the region accounts for more than half of global keyboard and mouse OEM output and over 70% of global game controller shipments.

Esports events drive hardware procurement demand

The organizer links the show to Hong Kong's 2026 esports calendar. The LCK Cup finals debuted at Kai Tak Arena in February, and the Hong Kong team won two bronze medals in esports at the Nagoya Asian Games last month. The BLAST tournament returns to AsiaWorld-Expo in November.

The organizer says tournaments drive demand for professional-grade gaming hardware, while hybrid work is merging office and gaming setups into a "desk setup economy." It bills the event as the first major gaming product sourcing exhibition after the Asian Games.

EU Battery Regulation sets a February 18, 2027 passport deadline

Under the EU Battery Regulation (EU 2023/1542), certain battery products must carry a Digital Product Passport from February 18, 2027. The passport discloses roughly 90 data points, including carbon footprint, recycled content, and full supply chain traceability. Requirements for electronics will follow in phases under the Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation.

The Phase I power supply and charging zone presents fast-charging, wireless charging, and energy storage products from suppliers that have put compliance frameworks in place. Buyers can assess suppliers' passport readiness on site and begin export certification and customs clearance planning. The organizer says this shortens the cycle from product selection to compliant order placement.

Policy framing: "Made in Chinese Mainland + Served via Hong Kong SAR"

John Kao, Vice President of Hong Kong Shows & Overseas Shows at Global Sources, tied the event to Hong Kong's first Five-Year Plan, which calls for consolidating its status as an international trade center. He said competitiveness now depends on delivering manufacturing capability, compliance capability, and trust together.

Awards, summit and VR zone run alongside the exhibition

The Best of Innovation Awards recognize 20 Phase I exhibitors, with a focus on consumer electronics. Two curated zones, the Winners Showcase and the Future Tech Discovery Zone, let buyers compare products and inspect samples side by side. A VR zone with VR Star Space and an MCHOSE Gaming & eSport Arena offer hands-on experiences.

The Global Sources Summit features speakers and certification representatives from VTC, Hong Kong Science Park, Tencent, Airoma AI, and SGS. Topics include AI in gaming, hardware design and supply chain planning, connected-device trust, and European compliance standards.
