Boone, N.C. – September 27, 2026 -- Fuse Oncology plans to demonstrate a potential integration linking GE HealthCare's Intelligent Radiation Therapy (iRT) software to its S!GNAL charge capture platform at the ASTRO 2026 Annual Meeting, running September 27-29 in Boston at booth 2533.
Concept links radiation therapy workflow software directly to charge review
The showcased workflow would allow iRT to launch S!GNAL using existing patient information, giving radiation oncology teams a direct path from treatment coordination to targeted charge review without re-entering data across systems. The capability is described as planned for a future iRT release and is currently in development and evaluation, with no confirmed commercial availability date.
Charge errors in radiation oncology often surface weeks after treatment
Radiation oncology departments typically operate across separate EMR, oncology information system, treatment planning, and billing platforms that do not communicate. A missing IGRT image, an untagged physics consult, or an inconsistent weekly treatment management charge often is not caught until weeks after service, by which point clinical context is difficult to reconstruct.
S!GNAL flags missed charges within 24 hours using treatment planning data
S!GNAL reviews charge data daily, comparing planning charges against discrete data from the treatment planning system and using natural language processing to cross-check clinical documentation, rather than relying on templates or document titles. The platform is installed once across a multi-site network but configured separately per location, so freestanding clinics and hospital-based departments are each measured against applicable billing rules.
Deployment across 15 sites surfaced $1.09 million in missed charges
In a rollout across 15 of 18 sites within a radiation oncology network between July 2024 and March 2025, S!GNAL identified $1,092,202 in missed treatment delivery and IGRT charges, each flagged within 24 hours of service. Charge lag across the network fell by more than 30 days.
"Every clinic we talk to has the same problem, and almost none of them have the staff to solve it by auditing harder," said James Bauler, Chief Executive Officer of Fuse Oncology. "The fix is to put the detection where the work already happens, in the system the team is already in."
