Aachen – September 09, 2026 -- devolo has issued a digital corporate bond through the regulated CONDA Capital Market platform to fund a growth initiative spanning new Wi-Fi 7 and Wi-Fi 8 hardware, AI-driven software and expanded European sales operations.
devolo diversifies financing beyond traditional bank credit
The Aachen-based home networking and powerline specialist, which has sold more than 50 million products and holds over 1,000 international test awards, is turning to capital markets to accelerate its expansion plans independently of banks. Dr. Paul Niederkofler, Managing Partner at SOL Capital Management, the company's majority financial investor, said the digital bond builds on an equity ratio of roughly 67% in 2025, including shareholder loans, to give devolo an additional financing channel to speed up growth.
New router and mesh systems target Wi-Fi 7 and Wi-Fi 8 standards
devolo is developing new routers, repeaters and mesh systems built on Wi-Fi 7 and Wi-Fi 8 alongside continued investment in its established powerline technology. The company is also preparing dedicated B2B networking solutions and expanding software offerings that use artificial intelligence to improve network performance, security and usability.
Company plans deeper push into additional European markets
devolo intends to strengthen its international sales structure and enter additional European markets, leveraging more than 20 years of networking experience and existing brand recognition to capture new revenue potential. Operational leadership remains with the founding Harbers family, and the company continues research cooperation with TH Köln under the "GridMaximizer - Phase 2" project.
ECB data shows falling reliance on bank loans among European SMEs
According to the European Central Bank's SAFE Survey, only about 14% of European SMEs currently use bank loans actively, while private markets and crowd-investing have gained traction. The EU now counts 159 authorized crowd-investing platforms with roughly 1.7 million active investors, a shift devolo is using to diversify its financing mix and increase flexibility in executing its growth plans.
