Corel Adds Text-to-Vector AI to CorelDRAW in September Update

New York – October 08, 2026 -- Corel has rolled out a Text-to-vector AI workflow in its September 2026 Update to CorelDRAW Graphics Suite 2026, letting designers convert written prompts into editable, scalable vector graphics directly inside the application. The update was reviewed by Consumer365, which flagged the feature as the centerpiece of the release alongside a reworked PowerTRACE engine and expanded CorelDRAW Web tools.

Text-to-vector tool turns prompts into editable vector objects

The new capability sits inside CorelDRAW's AI Generate docker, letting users start either from a text prompt or existing artwork. Output arrives as editable vector objects with manual node control, rather than locked raster images, and supports styles including Line art, Comic book, and Icon. Color handling follows the active document's color mode, aligning generated assets with existing production files.

The feature runs alongside CorelDRAW's existing Text-to-image tool, giving users a choice between vector and raster output depending on project needs.

PowerTRACE gains up to 4x faster tracing and AI background removal

Corel rebuilt PowerTRACE with a redesigned interface, improved object structure, and tracing speeds up to four times faster than before. An AI-powered background removal step now runs before tracing, isolating subjects in logos, scans, and low-resolution artwork ahead of vector conversion. Improved color handling gives users more control over source images prior to tracing.

CorelDRAW Web adds custom fonts and DWG/DXF export for subscribers

CorelDRAW Web now supports uploading personal, system, brand, and custom fonts, addressing typography mismatches when files move between desktop and browser environments. The web app also adds DWG and DXF export, enabling browser-based projects to move into plotter and fabrication workflows. Automatic cloud saving, improved file-renaming tools, and browser-based AI functionality round out the Web update.

Broader 2026 release already shipped AI background removal and masking tools

The September update builds on AI features introduced earlier in the CorelDRAW Graphics Suite 2026 cycle, including AI background removal, AI masking in Corel PHOTO-PAINT, AI image generation, and AI image remixing. Corel also reports app launch speeds roughly three times faster across the 2026 release, alongside smoother font handling and stability improvements.

CorelDRAW Graphics Suite 2026 remains available across Windows, Mac, and Web, targeting branding, signage, marketing materials, technical drawings, apparel, and large-format production. Production tools include Pantone Color Libraries, 1:1 scale design, color separations, and soft proofing. Corel is offering a 15-day free trial with 200 AI credits and no credit card required, plus a 10% discount via coupon code COREL10 through October 31, 2026.
