Europe's MILSATCOM Leaders Demand Resilience-by-Design in Munich

Munich – October 27, 2026 -- More than 100 military satellite communications (MILSATCOM) leaders gathered in Munich for ST Engineering iDirect's biennial Defence Technology Day, where speakers agreed that European sovereign networks must be built to withstand cyberattacks, jamming and physical damage from the outset. Defence agencies, operators, integrators and technology partners attended, and 12 partners exhibited.

Ukrainian officer: resilience cannot be retrofitted

Major Andrii Kovalchuk of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said modern SATCOM systems must survive cyberattacks, radio frequency interference and infrastructure damage at the same time. Speakers throughout the day echoed that resilience has to be embedded in architectures, terminals, waveforms, operational planning and procurement decisions.

ACG Orders 75 Airbus A320neo Jets in Its Largest Deal Ever

Newport Beach – October 16, 2026 -- Aviation Capital Group (ACG) has finalized an order with Airbus for 75 A320neo Family aircraft, the largest order in the lessor's nearly 40-year history, with deliveries scheduled between 2032 and 2035.

The order lifts ACG's outstanding A320neo Family commitments to 115 aircraft. As of June 30, 2026, the lessor had 118 A320neo Family aircraft in its fleet. The agreement includes conversion rights to other variants within the family, which gives ACG flexibility across its future delivery pipeline.

Order book now extends into the mid-2030s

Rob Downes, ACG's Chief OEM Officer, said the order gives the company additional capacity to meet airline demand for replacement and growth requirements. It also extends ACG's order book pipeline into the mid-2030s, he said.

GA Telesis Buys Three A320neo Airframes, Targets Five in 2026

Fort Lauderdale – October 14, 2026 -- GA Telesis, LLC has acquired three additional Airbus A320neo (LEAP-1A) airframes and expects two more before the end of 2026, which would expand its portfolio by five aircraft this year.

GA Telesis targets early-lifecycle A320neo material ahead of the retirement cycle

The company is building aftermarket supply for the A320neo years ahead of the conventional retirement cycle. It says the strategy responds to airlines facing persistent supply chain constraints, extended maintenance turnaround times and a growing global A320neo fleet. GA Telesis describes its used serviceable material (USM) inventory footprint as outpacing the emerging aftermarket for the platform.

Space Sensors and Actuators Market to Hit $9.04B by 2031

Delray Beach, Fla. – October 02, 2026 -- The global space sensors and actuators market is set to grow from $5.75 billion in 2026 to $9.04 billion by 2031, a 9.5% compound annual growth rate, according to a new report from MarketsandMarkets.

Sensors segment leads demand on satellite positioning and propulsion needs

By product type, sensors are estimated to lead the market, driven by their critical role in satellite positioning, propulsion control, and robotic operations. Manufacturers are advancing compact, radiation-hardened, and electromechanical sensor designs to serve both deep space and commercial missions.

Interplanetary spacecraft and probes dominate platform-level spending

The interplanetary spacecraft & probes segment is estimated to hold the largest market share by platform, as rising investment in planetary exploration missions fuels demand for advanced sensing and actuation systems.

MSA Safety Launches A1X Vacuum Anchor, Cuts Weight 35% for MRO Teams

Pittsburgh – September 16, 2026 -- MSA Safety has launched the A1X, a next-generation WinGrip vacuum anchor that weighs 7 kg, 35% lighter than its predecessor, and cuts the base diameter to 350 mm from 480 mm to speed up aircraft maintenance operations.

Redesigned pneumatic system doubles anchor repositioning per cylinder

The A1X uses rechargeable air or gas cylinders to generate suction force, creating a non-invasive anchor point on wing surfaces without damaging the aircraft. MSA redesigned the pneumatic system to double the number of anchor repositions available from a single cylinder, reducing the need for technicians to carry spare cylinders during time-sensitive line maintenance.

Pittsburgh – September 14, 2026 -- MSA Safety has launched the A1X, a vacuum anchor weighing 7 kg, 35% lighter than its predecessor, designed to speed up fall-protection deployment during aircraft maintenance checks.

Smaller footprint opens access to more aircraft types

The A1X reduces its pad diameter to 350 mm from 480 mm, allowing use on executive jets, private aircraft and smaller commercial planes previously outside the range of MSA's WinGrip technology. The system is approved by Airbus and Boeing, giving maintenance teams clearance to adopt it into standard procedures.
