Charlotte – September 30, 2026 -- Clean Team, a 30-year-old commercial janitorial services provider based in Toledo, Ohio, has received an investment from Austin-based private equity firm Blue Sage Capital to fund continued expansion. BlackArch Partners served as exclusive financial advisor to Clean Team on the transaction.
Clean Team operates 18 branches across 13 states in the Midwest and Southwest
The Company provides recurring janitorial services, specialty cleaning and consumable hygiene products to commercial clients in healthcare, manufacturing, distribution/fulfillment, education, government and office sectors. Clean Team has grown through a combination of organic expansion and strategic acquisitions since its founding in 1996 by CEO Bob Armbruster.
Blue Sage Capital brings $1.2 billion in assets under management to the partnership
Blue Sage, which has invested in lower middle-market companies since 2002, typically deploys $25 million to $60 million in control buyouts and recapitalizations of businesses generating $25 million to $200 million in revenue. The firm targets niche manufacturing, environmental solutions and specialty services companies, and will support Clean Team's ongoing M&A growth strategy.
Armbruster says BlackArch stood out after interviewing multiple investment banks
Armbruster said he evaluated numerous investment banking firms before selecting BlackArch, noting that other firms appeared to push their own agenda for the process. He credited BlackArch with listening to the Company's priorities and delivering results aligned with his non-negotiable requirements throughout the transaction.
