Changsha County – – September 30, 2026 -- The Fifth Changsha Tourism Development Conference opened in Changsha County, Hunan Province, on September 29, with organizers reporting that tourist arrivals and total tourism spending in Changsha doubled in 2025 compared with 2021.
Inbound tourist spending rose more than 40 percent year on year in 2025
The conference disclosed that spending by inbound visitors to Changsha increased by over 40 percent in 2025 versus the prior year, a marker of accelerating international tourism recovery in the city.
Changsha County builds tourism routes around four development themes
Changsha County structured its tourism strategy around four pillars: red culture, green ecology, intelligent manufacturing, and openness. The county has linked these themes into tourism routes connecting sites such as the Bancang Resort in Kaihui Town, the Dashali village community in Qingshanpu Town, and the Chen Shuxiang red tourism resources in Fulin Town.
Industrial tourism sites at GAC Aion and Minghe Industrial Park added to itinerary
The conference showcased industrial tourism offerings at GAC Aion and the Minghe Industrial Park, positioning manufacturing facilities as visitor attractions alongside traditional cultural and ecological sites. The itinerary combined red-themed study tours, ecological wellness tourism, rural leisure programs, and convention and exhibition tourism under a single "micro-vacation" branding push.
Six themed side events ran alongside the main conference to drive consumption
Organizers held six themed side events during the conference, designed to create direct platforms for boosting tourism consumption. This marks the fifth consecutive year Changsha has staged the tourism development conference, a run city officials credit with sustained gains in visitor numbers and spending.
