CenterPoint Sends 355 Workers to Florida After Hurricane Isaias

Houston – October 10, 2026 -- CenterPoint Energy (NYSE: CNP) is sending 355 employees and contractors to Pensacola to help Florida Power & Light restore outages caused by Hurricane Isaias along the Northwest Florida Coast.

CenterPoint deploys 105 line workers and releases 250 contractor personnel

Under a mutual assistance arrangement supporting Florida Power & Light, CenterPoint has deployed 105 of its own line workers. It also released about 150 contractor line workers and 100 vegetation management personnel for restoration work in Pensacola. The combined workforce is expected to support restoration over the coming days.

Storm tracking in Greater Houston preceded the deployment

Jason Fabre, CenterPoint's Vice President of Distribution and Special Response, said the company began monitoring the system late last week. It prepared and took proactive steps to support customers across Greater Houston before committing resources to Florida. He said the 355-person team would bring the same focus to Florida customers as to its own service territory.

Mutual assistance covers damage assessment, repairs and restoration

Utilities routinely help one another after major storms and other emergency events. Requested crews may be deployed for damage assessment, repairs and power restoration. CenterPoint said these partnerships help utilities restore service more safely and quickly and strengthen emergency preparedness and response capabilities. They also support a coordinated approach to restoring power across communities.
