Guangzhou – October 18, 2026 -- Phase 1 of the 140th Canton Fair opened on October 15 under the "Advanced Manufacturing" theme, with service robots and smart-living products anchoring the Consumer Electronics and Information Products zone through October 19.
Smart-living exhibits target health monitoring and elderly care
Exhibitors are showing wearable devices and continuous glucose monitoring systems that track indicators such as heart rate and blood glucose. Wearable exoskeletons and other AI-powered devices support mobility training and functional recovery.
For home and elderly care, companion robots, electric nursing beds and home-use hyperbaric oxygen chambers combine daily care with wellness support and lifestyle assistance.
A 70-80 cm humanoid robot draws constant crowds in the Service Robot Zone
The Service Robot Zone remains one of the fair's most popular attractions. A humanoid standing roughly 70-80 centimeters tall dances, approaches visitors and occasionally performs flips.
Its developer says it overcame key challenges in compact joint modules and modular humanoid robot development. Independently developed high-power-density joints deliver the agility, while a modular architecture is meant to accommodate a wide range of future applications.
Exhibits span industrial inspection, commercial services and household robots
The zone covers embodied intelligence, specialized operations, urban services and smart living. Full-size humanoid robots, dexterous hands with multimodal sensing and wheeled robots showcase advances in AI, perception and motion control.
For industrial and emergency environments, exhibitors present robotic inspection systems, live-line maintenance robots and underwater propulsion robots aimed at improving safety and operational efficiency. Commercial offerings include reception robots, façade-cleaning robots and fully automated coffee kiosks. Household products range from robotic lawn mowers to educational robots.
Organizers frame the display as China's robotics industry accelerating its transition from technological innovation to large-scale commercialization.
