C5 Biomedical CEO Named AATB '50 at 50' Honoree

Boca Raton, Fla. – October 06, 2026 -- C5 Biomedical LLC CEO Tim Maye, CTBS, is being honored tonight in San Francisco as one of 50 individuals named to the Association for Advancing Tissue and Biologics' (AATB) one-time "50 at 50" list, marking the organization's 50th anniversary.

Maye's 28-year tissue banking career includes six years chairing AATB's Standards Committee

Maye has held his Certified Tissue Bank Specialist (CTBS) credential since 1999 and spent six years chairing AATB's Standards Committee, the body responsible for the tissue banking standards the industry operates under today. He founded C5 Biomedical in 2021 and remains on the Standards Committee.

C5 Biomedical earned AATB accreditation in November 2025 under standards Maye helped write

The FDA-registered manufacturer of amniotic membrane allografts secured AATB accreditation last November, applying standards Maye contributed to drafting during his committee tenure. The company supplies allografts for wound care, burn, ocular, spine and orthopedic surgical applications, and also produces private-label allografts for distributors.

Former AATB accreditation VP credits Maye with 'cohesion and calm leadership' on standards panel

Beverly Bliss, MBA, CTBS, former AATB Vice President of Accreditation and Standards, said Maye sustained the committee's work on tissue banking standards without disruption during his chairmanship, describing his role as voluntary leadership that let members debate issues to reach consensus outcomes.

The 50 at 50 recognition is part of AATB Congress 26 in San Francisco. Maye said he intends to continue standards work through his ongoing committee seat.
