Fresno – October 21, 2026 -- Bar None Auction will sell the fleet of Bill Nelson General Engineering Construction, Inc. online on Friday, Oct. 30, 2026, with lots starting to close at 8:30 a.m. Pacific Time. The sale follows the retirement of owner Bill Nelson, who is closing the company after more than three decades in California's Central Valley.

Late-model Caterpillar units anchor a 2022-2025 lineup

Featured lots include a 2025 Caterpillar 420 loader backhoe, a 2023 Caterpillar 325 hydraulic excavator, a 2023 Caterpillar 930M wheel loader and a 2022 Caterpillar 279D3 skid steer loader. Additional 325-series excavators, 930M wheel loaders and multiple 420-series loader backhoes are also listed.

The sale also covers Freightliner trucks, water trucks, trailers, towable air compressors, Asphalt Zipper machines and compaction equipment. Buckets, compaction wheels and other attachments round out the catalog.

Nelson's infrastructure business sells equipment it used on public works projects

The Fresno-based contractor specialized in underground utilities, water and sewer systems, excavation and drainage. It worked for municipalities and public agencies across the region.

Jeff Huber, Marketing Director of Bar None Auction, said buyers can "acquire equipment directly from an established working contractor who relied on that equipment to run their business."

Bar None expects bids from contractors, municipalities and farms across the western U.S.

The auction company expects interest from general engineering, underground and utility contractors, and grading and excavation firms. It also expects municipalities, agricultural operations and other heavy-equipment users in California and the western United States. Online bidding is open to buyers outside the state.

Inspection windows run Oct. 28 and 29 at the Malaga Avenue yard

Bidders can inspect the equipment at 2741 E. Malaga Ave., Fresno, on Wednesday, Oct. 28, and Thursday, Oct. 29, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day.
