Band24 Launches Terra Tracker Merging Bluetooth, Cellular, Satellite

San Mateo, Calif. – October 06, 2026 -- Band24 has unveiled Terra, an asset-tracking device that fuses terrestrial Bluetooth, LTE-M cellular and direct-to-satellite connectivity into a single palm-sized unit, targeting a $30 billion global asset visibility market where coverage gaps routinely leave physical assets untracked.

Terra Combines Three Networks to Close Visibility Gaps

The device draws on a terrestrial Bluetooth network of more than 100 million crowdsourced access points, LTE-M cellular, and satellite continuity through Hubble Network's low-earth-orbit infrastructure. Band24 co-founder and CEO Patrick Patel said consumer trackers such as AirTags or Tile devices are insufficient for enterprise asset management, since visibility typically fails at the moment it matters most.

On-Demand Location Requests Return in About a Minute

Unlike most battery-powered trackers that report on fixed schedules, Terra allows businesses to request a location update at any time and receive a response in roughly 60 seconds. Band24 said this capability stems from a year spent refining its eDRX implementation beyond standard industry use, enabling near-instant responsiveness without sacrificing long-term battery life.

Device Adds Sensor Data Beyond Location Tracking

Terra is smaller than a deck of cards and built with a sealed, rugged enclosure resistant to dust, water and drops, with multi-year battery life requiring no recurring maintenance. Beyond location, the device carries an onboard accelerometer for motion and dwell detection, temperature and humidity sensors for cold-chain and compliance monitoring, and tamper detection to flag theft or unauthorized movement.

Terra Integrates Directly Into Existing Band24 Dashboard

The device connects to Band24's existing Ranger dashboard and Events API, the same self-serve tools already streaming near real-time asset data, avoiding the need for new infrastructure, IT projects, or procurement cycles.

Explorer Program Opens Early Access Ahead of 2027 Launch

Band24 is opening its Explorer Program, giving a select cohort of businesses early access to Terra hardware this fall in exchange for feedback ahead of general availability. Applications opened today and close November 13, with selected participants receiving devices in December. Terra is scheduled for general commercial availability in early 2027, with additional capabilities already in development.
