AT&T, NBA Launch 4th-Gen Arena Network on 68,000 Miles of Fiber

Dallas – – October 19, 2026 -- AT&T, the NBA and the WNBA have launched the fourth generation of the High-Speed Arena Network (HSAN), a platform designed to carry more than 118 concurrent, low-latency streams per game, and AT&T has extended its multiyear role as the leagues' Official Connectivity Partner.

Fourth-generation HSAN targets 118+ concurrent streams per game

The network is designed to move live game content, highlights, replays, in-arena programming and statistics to fans and business partners. It also carries the behind-the-scenes technology that supports game operations. The leagues expect it to support millions of hours of basketball consumption during the 2027-28 NBA season.

HSAN runs on more than 68,000 miles of AT&T fiber and network infrastructure. According to the source FAQ, it links NBA arenas, production facilities, data centers and media partners. Traffic includes live game video, audio feeds, broadcast content, digital media and other mission-critical league data. AT&T monitors network performance through its Network Operations Center.

AT&T chief marketing and growth officer Kellyn Smith Kenny said the company is helping build "the connectivity foundation that moves game content quickly and reliably across the league."

Partnership extension keeps AT&T across five basketball properties

The extension builds on a relationship that began in 2018. It continues AT&T's partnerships with the NBA G League, USA Basketball and NBA Take-Two Media, alongside the NBA and WNBA.

New fan touchpoints across content and retail activations will debut around American Express NBA Tip-Off. AT&T athletes, including Oklahoma City Thunder guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, will take part in special-access moments and original content during the season. AT&T will also continue its partnerships with the Chicago Bulls, Dallas Mavericks, Miami HEAT and LA Clippers.

AT&T keeps WNBA jersey branding and All-Star entitlement as inaugural Changemaker

As the WNBA's inaugural Changemaker, AT&T will keep its branding on all WNBA team jerseys and continue as entitlement partner of WNBA All-Star. It also maintains partnerships with Las Vegas Aces center A'ja Wilson and Sabrina Ionescu.

Slam Dunk title sponsorship and Turbo Live remain in place

AT&T will continue as title sponsor of the AT&T Slam Dunk at NBA All-Star, a sponsorship that began in 2019. The partnership also builds on on-court apron branding introduced for nationally televised NBA regular-season games in the 2025-26 season.

Turbo Live by AT&T remains available at select NBA arenas. It gives fans prioritized connectivity on the AT&T network regardless of their carrier. Use requires a 5G-capable smartphone, and an unlocked device with an open eSIM slot may be needed for activation.
