Dublin – October 12, 2026 -- AerCap Holdings N.V. (NYSE: AER) has delivered its 100th Boeing 787 from its direct orderbook with Boeing, a 787-9 placed on lease with Grupo Aeroméxico, which marks the airline's 25th Dreamliner.
AerCap's tenth 787 lease to Aeroméxico doubles as a program milestone
The aircraft is the tenth Boeing 787 that AerCap has leased to Aeroméxico. AerCap describes itself as the world's largest owner of 787s, with the largest 787 order book of any lessor at approximately 140 aircraft owned and on order.
Boeing says AerCap has taken more 787s than any other customer
Boeing Commercial Airplanes confirmed that it has now delivered more 787 Dreamliners to AerCap than to any other customer. AerCap was the first lessor to take delivery of the 787, in 2013, 13 years before this handover. Patrick McKelvey, vice president of Global Leasing Commercial Sales & Marketing at Boeing Commercial Airplanes, said the company will keep delivering to AerCap, noting "100 787 deliveries, and counting."
Aeroméxico leans on the 787 to expand its long-haul network
Max Alvarez, SVP Fleet and Business Development at Aeroméxico, said the Dreamliner has been instrumental in expanding the airline's long-haul network. He said the aircraft delivers the reliability, efficiency and onboard experience customers expect. Aeroméxico plans to expand the 787's role in its future fleet.
Peter Anderson, Chief Commercial Officer of AerCap, said the aircraft will support Aeroméxico's continued growth and improve the efficiency and sustainability of its fleet. He described the 787 as one of the most attractive widebody aircraft in service, citing its operating economics, performance and passenger comfort. AerCap said it looks forward to supporting the airline's future fleet requirements.
