Zurich – October 13, 2026 -- Approximately 30% of monitored organizations experienced at least one fake IT support impersonation attempt through Microsoft Teams in the first half of 2026, according to Ontinue's 1H 2026 Threat Intelligence Report. The managed detection and response (MXDR) provider says attackers are gaining scale by exploiting trusted identities, collaboration platforms, software supply chains and routine business workflows rather than by building more sophisticated malware.

The findings draw on incident investigations, threat intelligence research and telemetry from Ontinue's Advanced Threat Operations team.

Innovapptive Launches FEE Score as Plant Backlogs Hit 12.1 Weeks

Houston – October 13, 2026 -- Median maintenance backlog across benchmarked plants reached 12.1 weeks against a 2-4 week norm, according to Innovapptive's new Frontline Execution Benchmark 2026, which accompanies the launch of a metric called Frontline Execution Effectiveness (FEE).

FEE is a single score from 0 to 100% that rates how quickly and how well a plant responds to every problem it detects. Innovapptive says it complements Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) rather than replacing it. The benchmark draws on operational walkthroughs of approximately 120 plants and sites across 22 organizations and seven industries.

FEE averages latency and resolution across every valid problem

The score combines two measures. Latency is the share of a problem's closure window the plant kept, from detection to verified closure. Resolution tests whether the fix held, with no repeat failure on the same asset within 90 days.

Nel and Rheinmetall Sign MoU on Decentralised Synthetic Fuels

Oslo – October 13, 2026 -- Nel ASA and Rheinmetall AG have signed a non-binding Memorandum of Understanding to explore decentralised production of low-carbon synthetic fuels for defence and critical infrastructure, starting with the Norwegian market.

The partners will combine Nel's electrolyser technology with Rheinmetall's Giga PtX concept and systems-integration expertise. They will assess scalable, modular solutions based on renewable hydrogen produced through electrolysis. The resulting fuels can substitute conventional fuels without changes to end-use applications.

Norway's single refinery drives the case for localised fuel supply

Norway operates only one oil refinery. The country exports significant volumes of crude oil to Europe for refining, and refined products are then shipped back for domestic use. In a disruption, parts of the fuel supply chain depend on infrastructure beyond national control.
