Zetwerk Installs US Transformer, Cuts Lead Times to 12-15 Months

BENGALURU – October 29, 2026 -- Zetwerk Manufacturing Businesses Ltd. says it can deliver power transformers in the US within 12 to 15 months, against industry averages of 36 to 42 months, after completing the installation of a Zetwerk-manufactured unit in North Carolina with its US subsidiary Unimacts.

Energy revenue rises 86.90% to ₹6,507.57 crore

Zetwerk's Energy vertical generated ₹6,507.57 crore (₹65,075.72 million) in FY26, up 86.90% year on year. It contributed 69.42% of the company's Manufacturing revenue. In FY2026 the company received power transformer orders worth ₹2,032.25 crore (₹20,322.52 million).

Transformer shortages stretch US lead times to 36-42 months

US electricity demand from data centers and the AI capex buildout, together with efforts to modernize aging grid infrastructure, has outpaced transformer supply. Zetwerk puts average manufacturing lead times at 36 to 42 months in the US and 30 to 36 months in India in FY2026, a bottleneck for grid expansion.

Zetwerk says its model of orchestrating a cross-country supply chain with vertical integration shortens delivery. For utilities, developers and engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) companies, it offers an additional route to the equipment needed to expand and strengthen the grid.

Unimacts controls core transformer components in-house

Unimacts says it controls CRGO laminations, cores, core and coil assemblies and tanks in-house, which gives it control over quality and lead times. It also cites strategic relationships with long lead-time OEMs.

The product range covers six transformer categories built to IEEE C57 standards. These run from medium-voltage pad-mounted, dry-type and inverter-duty units to power transformers up to 500 MVA and 765 kV.

Unimacts reports ₹2,775 crore in international revenue and seven US plants

Unimacts reported more than ₹2,775 crore (₹27,753.55 million) in international revenue in FY2026. It owns seven US facilities and operates through a US legal entity. Parent Zetwerk has about ₹15,913 crore (₹159,133.23 million) in revenue and 26 facilities.

Srinath Ramakkrushnan, executive director and chief operating officer of Zetwerk, said the companies are working to "help close this gap" by coordinating production across countries so that customers can expand and strengthen the US power grid.

Unimacts, headquartered in Sloan, Nevada, has supported utility-scale solar projects across the US by manufacturing structural components, including piles and torque tubes. The transformer push extends that energy infrastructure work into another essential grid component.
