Henderson, NV – October 12, 2026 -- YMX Logistics has won the 2026 AI Excellence in Supply Chain Award from FreightWaves in the Operational AI Integration category, for results delivered by its Autonomous Yard Operating System (YOS).
FreightWaves honors YMX among five AI winners in logistics
The award recognizes companies producing business outcomes with artificial intelligence across supply chain, transportation and logistics operations. YMX was named alongside four other organizations; FreightWaves publishes the full winners list on its website.
YMX's digital twin engine models layout, fleet, labor and electrification choices
Within the Autonomous YOS, YMX built a decision engine driven by AI and predictive analytics. YMX teams use it to analyze, test and continuously optimize yard operations. The model evaluates:
- layout configurations
- fleet sizing
- labor planning
- traffic flow
- electrification strategies
This lets YMX and its customers quantify the operational and financial impact of each option.
Product chief says YMX's autonomy goes beyond driverless trucks
Jeff Hiller, vice president of product, said that at YMX "autonomy means much more than deploying autonomous trucks." He said the engine combines a digital twin, machine learning, predictive analytics, computer vision and real-time operational data. The system assesses conditions, anticipates constraints, recommends actions and refines YMX's field execution. Hiller added that customers report they have not seen another approach that integrates technology and operations this way.
CEO Matt Yearling said YMX teams work around the clock in complex environments for some of the country's largest shippers. He said the future of yard operations lies in combining technology and operations to improve performance, safety and sustainability for enterprise shippers.
